Parent Support Drop-In Group
What's on offer
Mondays 10am-11am During Term Time at Ledbury Children's Centre
Our parent support drop-in group is a weekly space for you to meet, connect and share your experiences of being a parent. The job of parenting is often done in isolation, without much praise or feedback from anyone except when things are going wrong for your child! We are here to support, listen to and encourage you, and help you feel less alone in the important job of raising your children.
Monday 1st November: What stresses do you face as a parent?
Monday 8th November: Realistic self-care for parents to relieve stress.
Monday 15th November: Understanding the biology of stress.
Monday 22nd November: What stresses do your children face?
Monday 29th November: Reducing stress in the home.
Monday 6th December: Mindfulness for stress.

The focus of each week is on you the parent, and helping you think about and reflect on what you need. This is quite a challenging experience for many parents, whose sole focus usually is finding groups that support their child's development. We welcome your children, and there are warm and friendly adults and toys here for them to explore. At the same time, it is an opportunity to think about a variety of different issues that you may face as a parent.
The group is facilitated by our in-house counsellor and our mindfulness teacher, both of whom are also parents and know the challenges that come with it. We have a loose programme of topics here every half term, and are very open to suggestions about what we talk about, so please feel free to ask us to focus on what is important to you. Here are the current topics for the next few weeks.
Feel free to book in as many as you like, but during these restricted times we ask that you consider spacing out your visits so others can enjoy the group as well. Please note that Covid19 restrictions are in place and we ask all adults to wear face masks, use sanitiser and to remain at home if you have any symptoms of Covid19. We also ask visitors to take a lateral flow test before coming to the Centre where possible. Due to these restrictions you will need to let us know you are coming and book in each week so we can manage numbers.
